Step-by-Step Guide: How to Grant Access to Someone on YouTube

Granting access to someone on YouTube typically involves adding them as a collaborator or manager to your YouTube channel.

Here are the steps to grant access to someone on YouTube:

  1. Sign in to YouTube Studio: Go to YouTube and sign in with the Google account that manages the channel you want to grant access to.
  2. Access YouTube Studio: Once signed in, click on your profile icon at the top right corner of the screen. From the dropdown menu, select "YouTube Studio."
  3. Navigate to Settings: In YouTube Studio, find and click on "Settings" in the left-hand menu. It's usually represented by a gear or cog icon.
  4. Select Permissions: Within the Settings menu, look for the "Permissions" option. Click on it to access the permissions settings for your channel.
  5. Click on "Add or remove Managers": Under Permissions, locate the section for adding or removing managers. This is where you can grant access to others.
  6. Enter the Email Address: You will be prompted to enter the email address of the person you want to grant access to. Make sure you enter the correct email associated with their Google account. Please use analytics@relentless-digital.com.
  7. Choose the Role: After entering the email address, you'll be asked to choose the role for the person you're adding. YouTube offers different levels of access, such as Manager, Editor, or Viewer. Select the appropriate role based on the level of control and permissions you want to grant.
-Manager: Can manage the channel, edit its details, upload videos, and respond to comments.
-Editor: Can edit the channel details, upload videos, and respond to comments, but cannot manage the channel.
-Viewer: Can view analytics and video performance but cannot make any changes to the channel.
  8. Send Invitation: Once you've chosen the role, click on the "Invite" or "Send Invitation" button. This will send an email invitation to the person you're adding, asking them to accept the invitation.
  9. Confirmation: The person you invited will receive an email with instructions on how to accept the invitation. Once they accept, they will have the designated level of access to your YouTube channel.
  10. Review and Manage Permissions: After granting access, periodically review the list of managers and editors associated with your channel. You can remove or adjust their permissions at any time by following similar steps in the YouTube Studio settings.

That's it! You've successfully granted access to someone on your YouTube channel.
