Gaining Access to Google Ads Accounts & Payment Set Up - Existing or New Accounts

Comprehensive Step-by-Step Instructions for Managing Google Ads Account Access and Configuring Payment Profiles

If you have an existing Google Ads Account -

Method 1 - Accepting Linking Request Invite via Email

After providing us your Google Ads Account ID (also known as CID) you should receive an email notification from Google, usually from the address ads-account-noreply@google.com notifying we have requested to link your Google Ads account to our Manager account. You can very simply click "Accept Request" and grant us access, then you're done!

However, if you never received this linking request email, follow the next method outlined below.

Google Ads invitations have an expiration date. If you wait too long to accept the invitation, it may expire. If this is the case, reach out to us and we will resend the invitation.

Method 2 - Accepting Linking Access in Google Ads Account

Step 1: Log in to your Google Ads account.
Log in to your Google Ads account. Make sure you’re using the account that is the CID you provided to us in your Onboarding PPC form. If you have multiple Google Ads accounts for LSA and PPC, double-check that you’re logging into the correct one.

Step 2: Navigate to “Access & security”
Once you’re logged in, click on the Admin icon (a cog) on the left side of your Google Ads dashboard. Then click on “Access & security.” This is where you manage who has access to your account.

Step 3: Review & Accept the Pending Link Request
In the “Access & security” section, you’ll see a tab titled “Managers", click on it to navigate to this tab. Here, you’ll find any pending invitations to link your account to a manager account. Find the request sent by Relentless Digital and hit "Accept". A pop up will appear, select “Grant Access”

If you do NOT have an existing Google Ads Account -

Don't worry we will save you some time and create you a new Google Ads account within our MCC. We will then send you an invite to become the owner of this new account so you can take it with you in you ever choose to discontinue our PPC services. Follow these instructions for what you need to do if we created you a new Google Ads account!

Part 1: Accept Access to Your New Google Ads Account

After the creation of your new Google Ads account, we will send an admin level invite to your email address we have on file. You'll receive an email from Google asking you to accept this invite to access, click "Accept Invitation".
After you've accepted this invitation you'll be in full control of the account, and able to add any other team members you'd like to have access.

Part 2: Set Up Google Ads Billing Profile

Having valid payment methods in Google Ads is essential to ensure your campaigns run smoothly without interruptions.

Navigate to Billing
The Google Ads billing page allows you to view past transactions, update your payment methods, promotions, and manage your billing profile settings. To access it, click the Billing tab on the left-side navigation menu.

Add A Payment Method
In the "Settings" section under Billing, you can update your payment method. We strongly recommend enabling automatic payments and adding both a primary and a backup payment method to prevent any disruptions to your ad campaigns due to billing issues.

In the billing settings, under "How you pay" here is where you're typically able to edit the threshold. Google automatically updates your payment threshold as your account spends more and demonstrates timely payments. Once your account is eligible, Google notifies you, and you may have the option to change the threshold yourself.

For more information on how the Google payment threshold works see this help article: https://support.google.com/google-ads/answer/2375373?hl=en

Part 3: Plan for Google Advertiser Verification Completion

Google does not always require advertiser verification immediately, and the timing of when your account is flagged for verification can be unpredictable. However, this process is mandatory and will eventually be required, so we recommend completing it proactively. Once Google flags your account for advertiser verification, you have 30 days to comply before your ads will be paused. While this typically does not delay campaign launches, timely completion is essential to avoid service interruptions.
